First planting season begins at the Zimbabwe Quarantine site

The Maize Lethal Necrosis (MLN) Quarantine Facility at Mazowe, Zimbabwe has begun its operations. The first seed nursery with 13, 239 germplasm entries that arrived from Kenya have been planted for safe seed multiplication. After three weeks of continuous rain in the region, 1.6 hectares of land was planted successfully. Personnel have been trained to conduct activities at the quarantine facility.
